We helped a major retail drugstore compete with Amazon-no tape, no void fills, no delays

To compete with AMAZON this retailer needed to make use of its national locations and ship direct to consumer orders from their stores, delivery the next day in many cases.

They needed to avoid any standard warehouse packaging equipment, void fill machine, tape machines. With very limited space in their back rooms, they needed a compact solution. The solution had to have a fast-learning curve for their retail team to be able to pick & pack consumers orders and ship them from their stores.

The Smart Karton All Paper pack answered all their needs, avoiding additional equipment that might break down, and provided a simple to use packaging solution for their store personnel.

We replaced void fill with elegance - for a leading cosmetics brand

This cosmetic company was looking for a 100% sustainable solution for direct-to-consumer fulfillment. The outside of the cartons needed to be plain, but they wanted a “WOW” unboxing experience for their high-end cosmetics. At their high price point, they did not want to insult their customers by packing their orders in void fill paper, tissue, or air bubbles.

The solutions had to carry the same high end feel of the brands throughout the buying experience. They have many brands and many boxes sizes, so the solution had to be impacted to each consumer audience but carry a similar high quality packaging theme throughout.

The All-Paper Pack answered their sustainability needs and addressed more than 15 various brands in over 5 different box sizes, carrying individual branding, but a consistent high quality unboxing experience for each consumer.

We helped a leading home delivery pharmaceutical company ship faster, smarter, and with zero prescription waste.

This pharmaceutical company fills Medicare orders for consumers across the nation. They pack 90-day supplies of prescription medicine into corrugated boxes filled with manually loaded kraft paper void.

The order pickers pick orders into a tote, the tote travels to the packers who check the orders and add void fill paper, seal the box, and replace it onto the conveyor. The process was slow and labor intensive. Consumers also complained about not getting all their prescriptions when in fact the product was probably thrown away with the kraft void fill paper.

The company was also feeling the squeeze of labor shortages and was looking for more automation in their pack out of orders. The Smart Karton All Paper Pack solution joined with the Smart Packer automation solution answered their needs.

The company now has increased output, and reallocated labor, and moved to a solution where all the contents of the shipment are secured in the pack, lost contents complaints have disappeared.

We delivered prescription protection—without the void fill hassle

A leading health and well being companys Phoenix facility ships 90-day Medicare prescriptions nationwide. While most go in poly mailers, up to 2,000 daily require boxed packaging with void fill—handled manually by three packers using kraft paper dispensers.

The process was slow, labor-heavy, and wasteful.

With Smart Karton’s All-Paper Pack, the same team completed packing faster and cleaner.

A formal 8-hour time study showed a 40% reduction in labor costs, even before material savings. Humana has since adopted the system and is now exploring Smart Packer automation to boost output further while reducing headcount.
